Final Test Drive

Big Red was loaded on the trailer before 8 am.  All the stickers on the truck, trailer and Big Red make a nice statement.  By 9 am we were loading up and heading to Covington, Louisiana.
The first stop was in Mississippi at the first rest stop.
In 2013 the Great Race left Covington and made its way to Mobile.  With copies of the route, Sam and Darrin will try to make the final stage without mishap.
The truck has stickers that read Flunky 1 and Flunky 2.  Our team lived up to it. Sitting and talking for 2 hours we blew right past our exit.
Driving through the back country of Mississippi there were many farms. Paul and I looked for barn find cars but the farms were nice and everything was clean. As we turned more corners we headed into the not so nice farms. This is when we began to see old cars parked in fields and barns.

We got lost but we turned to the GPS and quickly found the roads we were to be traveling. Darrin and Sam got lost at the same point and ended up at the entrance of Nasa about 20 minutes out of the way. After 8 years signs can go missing.
We stopped at a gas station that was just a hole in the wall with a restaurant in it.  Seemed like it was the hot spot of the town.  We waited for the guys to show up in Big Red.
We traveled some more of the route.  When we reached Gulfport it was late afternoon.  We all thought it was a good day and choose to load up Big Red and head back to Mobile.
