Show Day

We woke up late and headed to the vehicles.

Good thing that the guys had spent time with the cars the night before.  They were all ready to unload. The flat tire on the Impala had been fixed.

I went to Judges breakfast and the guys polished the cars.  At the breakfast we go over what we will be doing for the day.
Because you have to have 10 judging credits to judge a Grand National event I volunteered to help with admin.
With 190 registered cars the task of judging and recording scores was going to be a task.
We had a short hour and a half break.  I tried to photograph the cars and only got one row done.  Then it was time to go inside to start the admin part of the meet.  As hot as it was outside you would think being inside would be welcome except they did not turn on the air conditioning.
About an hour and a half in the teams started to come in and then my job as runner started.  I took the score sheets from the first table where the ladies would review the sheets with the team captain and double check the addition of of scores to the second table of double checkers.

After the score sheets are double checked then I would run them upstairs and the ladies upstairs would enter them into the computer.
14 of the 15 teams came in real steady.  That last team took a while.  Finally the last team captain came in and we finished up.
Vicki Bolton and I went out and finished looking at the cars.  It was very hot out and they released the cars at 2 pm instead of the 3 pm normal time.
We loaded the cars and headed in for showers before the banquet.
We sat with Joey and Kaye Moore.  We had our picture taken with Harry and Bess Truman.
